SO me and a friend were hanging out today, discussing old 80s Jackson and Ibanez Super Strats. I've wanted one for about two years, and when we made our way to guitar center, 'lo and behold, a Reverse Dinky from the nineties greeted me. It was going cheap with a hardshell and either a Dimarzio X2N or D Activator X in the bridge. Eveything was in good order, it's a little beat up and the trem needs new strings and a setup, but I think I got a hidden gem. I got home and looked it up, it's a JDR94 model in Midnight Blue(looks black except in direct light). I also found out that these are made in Japan.
Has anyone had one of these or played em? The parts themselves are worth more than I'm paying for the guitar itself, and there weren't any cracks in the neck either. I'm probably going to foot the bill with an Epiphone SG I've got, love it, but I really don't have the money for this thing right now.
So is this guitar worth the shit storm it's going to whip up?
Certainly. Those mid '90s Jacksons are still sort of under the radar a bit, but they're great guitars. I would probably replace the licensed Floyd with an OFR, but you do that, you've got a first-rate axe for dirt cheap.
