That said - it's in tune, and for the first time I could actually play it, which was pretty fucking cool. This is the first time I've ever actually put the whole thing together myself, and barring any unforseen soldering issues it's going pretty damn well!
Hell yes man! That is awesome!

I was just playing my blue swirl I put together a few years ago, wondering when you were finally going to get around to finishing yours up. Fun as shit, isn't it?

Man, that turned out killer!

Haha dude I am so fired up, it looks so fucking cool in person.

The trem studs showed up yesterday, which was the last thing I was waiting on. Pressed in the anchors and jumped right on it as soon as I got home from work.

Amazingly, the setup on it (even with the bridge angle like that) is actually playable. Just need to lower the action a bit, level the bridge and adjust the saddles. I can't wait to wire it up, but I want to wait until I'm happy with the neck angle and shit in case I need to pull the pickguard or something for any weird reason.

Nice! How'd you fix the switch length issue?

Too much focus leads to tunnel vision
Too much faith leads to religion
Too much knowledge leads to confusion
Too many guitar lessons lead to jazz-fusion

I haven't yet. I have a switch, and the dudes at work are going to give it some longitude, but I don't want to pester them. (Machine shop guys don't really work with the engineers, so they know me but don't know me, ya.. know?)

I'll wire it up as is and whenever they get around to hooking me up, it's a quick swap.

Or, i don't know... maybe a Jem?
A lot of Jems were rear routed and had clear pickguards. The GMC, all the FPs, DNA etc...
