    Ever notice how

Necks with dot inlays begin on the 3rd fret, and necks with shark teeth inlays begin on the 1st fret?

The dots make more sense... there's no 13th free inlay so why is there a 1st fret inlay?

But shark tooth inlays look awesome and would look "wrong" if there wasn't one on the first fret.

Just a design thing - Gibson puts blocks on the 1st fret too.

I'm pretty sure I have seen one that had sharktooth inlays but none on the first fret... Or I could just be imagining things since I've been up too long

    Do they?
I am an optimist, it does not seem too much use being anything else.

    Sharktooth > Block inlays.
