Default NGAROGD (New Guitar After Returning Other Guitar-Day)

So......the Akesson went back. Well made, sounded great, but sweet fuck is it heavy, and I couldn't stand the way it felt while playing standing up. I'm just not cut out for heavy singlecuts.

I did, however, dig the shorter scale, and since I still missed my Schecter C7, I got a C-1 Custom.

Sounds great with the JB/59 set. At least, I think that's what it has.

This does leave me with a spare set of BK-look alike Breeds, which I'll be promptly dropping in my SC420, once I find black pickup rings that'll fit.

EDIT

It's actually a Custom Custom in the bridge. Sounds good though.

Hmm, I'd probably like the Akke, since my Carvin's weight is one of the more endearing things about it to me. (It's a LOT heavier than the ESP Eclipse that I had).

That said, score sir. C1s are great fiddles.

Pretty sharp. Custom Custom in the bridge? Those aren't bad. Didn't they come in the Nuno's a while back? I can't remember, but I remember it not sounding "bad" at all, actually having an "interesting" bit of depth.

Both guitars were photographed in my basement with my iPhone, so that likely explains it. The 4 doesn't do as well as my wife's 4S. I'm almost positive the Carvin is still lighter than the Akesson. I would be interested in seeing weight comparisons.

Adam, the N4 has (to my knowledge) always had a BL L500 in the bridge. That's what both my swamp ash and alder N4's had, anyway. It would like sound better with either a Custom Custom or JB though; the L500's are an acquired taste.

Ah, gotcha. I remember playing some Washburn years and years ago with the Custom Custom in it, but now I can't remember which one it was.

Not a bad sounding pickup.

You're right; I know exactly what you're thinking of, I just can't think of the name. Washburn had a real hard-on for the Custom Custom for awhile. My friend's shop was a Washburn dealer for years, and had a bunch of their cooler stuff.

Yeah I wouldn't mind one of those either, despite the horrid inlay.

My friend has one (C-1FR) as his first guitar from Schecter after switching to them from endorsing PRS and he says it kicks all sorts of ass.

They have satin finished necks too

Quote:
the neck is awesome. I love it. Thinner than most of their other guitars. Feels a lot like the Torero, but, so much smoother with the satin finish.
