and she's a green dot. back doored this off of the Bay last weekend. I figured a UV was the last of the Ibby 7's that I've yet to own that interested me, so I figured I'd try this one, I really wanted a PWH but alas none were to be found.
I can see why people rave about the necks on these things, it really is super comfy, even the square neck joint on this doesn't get in the way.
The frets are a bit smaller than I'd like but luckily this one seems to have zero fret ware at all so at least they are not nubs, the other thing that caught my eye on this particular one is that the strings are not sitting right on the edge of the fret ends, which is so often the cse with ibanez 7's )drives me fucking nuts)
It's in good shape , a couple of minor dings down to the wood, I have black auto touch up paint I'm on the fence about whether to fill them or just leave it be. the Trem came blocked (which the seller didn't disclose) and at first it kind of annoyed me but now I kind of like it. came in a piece of shit case but luckily I had an Extra UV case stored away. It plays great, the pickups in there actualy sound quite good thru my Mesa rack (didn't try it thru the Axe yet) I had a major clean up job to do on it , polished the frets guitar honey'd the fret board , oiled the back of the neck, and cleaned up the body.
Of course this Ibby 7 is no different than any other I've ever had in my hands and could use a little neck shim to get the highest frets down just a hair, the rest of the action is godlike this thing is really effortless to play.
Still not sure if I 'm keeping it , I'll give it a couple of weeks. Doesn't touch my BRJ but ....not too shabby
My fav of the UV's. Very cool.
I didnt get the fret size either on these but its SV's sig, not mine, right? The paint chips to me are whatever on a used guitar. I'd touch them up if you're going to sell tho. I think its a shame about the blocked trem. A floyd equipped guitar from the early 90's....c'maawnuh!!
Oh, and green knobs and switch tip pweez!
