Default NGD - JP6 P-Rail Goodness

So I figured it's about time I start being a source of contribution to this forum and what better way than to start with a proper NGD. As some of you may be aware I had a "brief" interlude with the Strypoverse.

I've always been a fan of the feel of the Music Man JP guitars but never had the funds to warrant a purchase. Fast forward from the Strypoverse and a JP6 comes up for sale locally for a great price (2 months old to boot)...

Never really a fan of the Crunchlab so decided in my wisdom to pick up a set of P-Rails as I'd heard good things about them on the forum. Warning - the neck pickup will not fit in the JP6. I must have had too many drinks when I was measuring it up and used the bridge height to compare to the neck.

I wasn't about to route into the body so the legs had to come off the neck P-Rail, it's now totally bastardized, but who gives a shit since it can't be seen anyways.

No soundbites as yet...you'll have to wait until I fire up the Mark IV. Onto the pics. (Beware - some real shoddy work to the pickups). Flaming welcomed haha.

Glory shot

Thanks Darren. Basic P-Rail wiring from the Seymour Duncan site with 2 push/pulls. I'm thinking of just replacing the piezo volume with a 4-way rotary as it's a pain in the ass to switch between rails and P90s etc. However that might have to wait because once I get the IV up and running there won't be time for soldering!

Works out as a pretty good all-in-one guitar and is a blast to play.

I never used the piezo volume anyway, since i used a blend pedal instead.

I need to put P-Rails in something. Hmm... maybe that headless prototype i'm about to start on...
