First, thank you VERY much to the guys at Matt's Music for setting me up with this thing. I went down over the weekend with Drew, played a TON of amazing guitars and despite this being basically the most plain guitar to look at in the world, it is FANTASTIC. Once again the guys there were professional, friendly as hell and really all around just made the decision a lot easier. I can't say enough good things about the place - go there, seriously, you'll feel awesome and their inventory is immaculate.
That said... (Skip the following if you don't care about my raving)
The resident MG hypocrisy archaeologists will have zero trouble digging up posts from me pointing out that Suhrs aren't worth it, are too plain, not enough bang for the buck, etc. I meant it then, and I am completely eating my words now. This guitar has no quilt, no flame, no burst, no color, no tone knob.. You name it, it doesn't have it. It doesn't need it. Holy fucking shit does this thing kick absolute unrivaled amounts of ass.
I blathered on about it enough in the other thread so I'll just say that my cheeks hurt from smiling so much, because the first thing I did when I got home was play the shit out of it. Even when I got to the store to pick it up, I plugged it in and just could not stop smiling. I'm lucky enough to own a ton of asskicking guitars, and this completely unassuming plain-jane sixxer is spot on right there with them. It sounds like nothing else I own and is just a complete joy to play.
I can't wait for you guys coming to my place in October to rip it up on it. If anyone looked at it and said "That's nothing special", they'd immediately understand when they played it.
Edit: Here's a quick sloppy clip of nonsense.
It's missing a string.
