I've wanted to get a 7 string custom Carvin (Strictly 7 guitars are all way too big for me, Agile are... hit and miss, and the other good options that interest me are overseas) for a while now but the biggest thing holding me back is that I can't get a guitar in basswood. It sounds stupid, and I have different woods in different guitars, but my RG7321 (basswood) and EC-1000 (mahogany) both have Cold Sweats in them and my RG7321 is by far the best sounding guitar I own. Very clear, articulate, everything I could want in a seven string.
What should I do? I don't want to take a shot in the dark and get a different wood and hope that it works, because this guitar is supposed to be an UPGRADE from my 7321. Not a upgrade in just a few ways. Thoughts?
Considered an EBMM? The regular JP7 is basswood, and kicks all sorts of ass.
