Not sure if this website does these kinda threads.. but I wanted a little experienced advice on my next child.
So after equipping yet another guitar with the sterile sound of EMG's which I love so much, I'm yearning something a little less hot, and I'm starting to like how articulate some of the other PUPs i hear on here are, so I'm gonna get another shredder. I'm thinking an Ibanez S Prestige(though i already have an S670.), RGT220A(fucking ridiculous guitar),or some Jackson, probably a soloist, but it would have to play the way Jackson's are known for playing. ive never played a seven, or listen to bands that play sevens, but i love them and i know that they would widen my range, so i wouldn't say no to a GREAT seven. Neck Thru Preference, love floyd roses, other than that, i dont really specify much...
If any of the guitars i listed have flaws of some sort, are unpopular for a specific reason, or someone wants to point me in the direction of a good guitar similar to one of these listed, Staying under like $1300, i would love you. Not really a custom kinda guy either so... yeh. just recreational playing. my final choices(aside from a guitar suggested by one of you) would be an ibanez RGT220A, Ibanez S prestige, some kinda of Jackson(H/H, Floyd Rose), or the Jim Root Tele that i've wanted for so long. I'll Prolly throw some BKP's, Dimarzio's, or some SD's into whatever i get.
suggestions please, why i should buy one or the other?
(IDK if this thread is in the appropriate spot... so if it is... Sorry!)
A good-condition used EBMM JP or JP7 is well within that price range, and will smoke any of the Ibanezes you mention. It doesn't have a Floyd and is not neck-thru, but the trem is very stable and they are incredibly well-built and stable.
I'll let some of the Jackson nuts provide advice as to those, as the soloists are neck-through and typically Floyded like you'd prefer.
