As I waited for my Dingwall bass to make its way across the country last week, my primary coping mechanism was to spend a bit too much time looking at pictures of other instruments they've made. And, in one case, an instrument they haven't.
Someone with an obviously highly refined sense of taste (read: not me) made a mockup of a fanned fret eight string based on the shape and aesthetics of the Afterburner II bass, and it's had me kind of tight in the pants ever since I saw it.
Now, the likelihood of this ever being built remains... low. Like all fantasies, however, that doesn't stop it from being reeeeeeal pretty to look at.
