Now, I get it...I will admit that I didn't get it until yesterday, though. The Suhr's look pretty cool, but there is nothing like picking one up and jamming on it to really get it. After flying in from NC yesterday, I stopped by Matt's Music. That place is the coolest fuckin guitar store I've ever been in!! Amps galore! Awesome axes....So, Matt let me play the Roasted Mahogany body, Pao Ferro neck Suhr. Super cool. It had the blower switch, which I still didn't figure out what it did after the forum discussion two days ago. It still took me about 2 minutes but now I get it. Set your tone and volume for your cool, easy going, low volume sound and click the switch and it renders your volume and tone useless, bypassing them at full volume.
Getting long here, but I love the Silver 7 string Suhr. Looks awesome, especially under the lights there. Those frets and the Ebony board were fantastic. I don't think any of my guitars have Jumbo frets. They are a blast to play on. Also, anytime I went up the neck, the tone of the notes were so full and alive. Matt let me play on the new Randall Lynch Box that George Lynch signed. A very responsive amp, lots of texture to it.
I know I've publicly jones'd for the axe fx ii for quite some time now, but I want that Silver Suhr. It's a lotta bux, but it was freaking awesome. It is such a quality instrument. Thanks for all you guys turning me on to new guitars and equipment, because I had never heard of Suhr's until recently.
i'll try to embed the photo...if it doesn't work i'll try again
Yup, Matt's is awesome. I played that same guitar last time I was there and it was a coin toss between that one and the natural finish one that I ended up with. Gorgeous fiddle, fo'sho.
