    Replacing serial numbers?

I made the mistake of sticking some picks on my headstock with masking tape for my gig last week, and removing it has taken my serial number sticker with it. I'm thinking I might be able to steam it off the tape and reattach it, but as anyone else got any suggestions? And no, I'm not going to try that again, I'll get a proper pick holder.

I use heat gun to lift labels off cigar boxes, works better than steaming.
It will soften the glue up and it "should" let you peel the serial number sticker straight off the tape and stick it straight back on the guitar.
    Good luck soldier.
