I'm in the final stretches of finishing this. For those who haven't see, the body was built by Chris at Mai Guitar (see here)
Swamp ash, Edge route, HxS, jem style output jack. It's blue to match the inlays on the neck...
The neck is from a '91 RG565, as is the bridge. The headstock has been keyed, primed and sprayed black and had a decal applied to it,
and is currently drying with the first clearcoat in my kitchen.
Pickups I'm struggling with, I had originally wanted blue but Dimarzio don't do blue single coil humbucker covers any more and I cannot find one for love nor money used. I'm pretty set on an Air Norton S for the neck. Bridge I want an Aftermath, but I hate the bobbins BKP use - glossy and rather cheap looking. I had a line on an old Dimarzio Megadrive but it was long leg and a bit natty looking. Black polepieces are a must. Pickup suggestions, fire away! I'd also considered an Evo or a D-Activator.
When it's all here I'll drill the body for pickup wires, shield the whole thing with foil (I'm a convert, that shit is amazing), install the bridge studs and pray everything fits.
Looking good, Stitch. I dont know what to suggest p'up wise, but if your good at masking you can spray the bobbin cover in the same blue - i have done this to get zebra stripe h'bucker stylie with good results.
