    Craigslist Score of the Day

I was browsing CL earlier this morning and came across this guitar. Its a Washburn Mercury Series. The ad said it had "custom EMGs" installed. And the guy wanted $100 for it.

I texted him to see if he wanted anything in trade. He only wanted cash, guns, or gold. So I offered him ammo. He said he would trade straight across for 100 rounds of 9mm. For you non-gun folk, thats like $30 in ammo during todays market. I told him I would give him 150 rounds if he drove across town and brought it to me. I have a few thousand rounds at my place and the ammo I gave him I got for free from my last job.

When we met up I didn't really inspect it closely. Just enough to see it has EMG's and locking tuners. He even gave me a HSC for it.

It is actually in kind of rough shape, and he did some major bubba-luthier work to it to make the EMGs fit and the wiring is fucked up pretty bad.

But for the price I paid, who gives a shit.

I cleaned it up, threw a set of EB Skinny Top/Heavy Bottoms on it and set it up. And all I have to say about this thing is WOW!

What a fucking player! I am super impressed with this thing. I am already looking for another. This is my first Washburn but will NOT be my last.

Anyway, here is some shitty pics.

essentially free guitar. Seems like a win even if it ended up only being a backup/alt tuning guitar. Even better that you dig it. Congrats

Locking tuners, and that's a Wilkinson VS100, hopefully the gotoh licensed variant. That alone is worth more than what you paid.

    That's an MG-821. Nice score!

I was considering getting one of those for awhile, but I'm pretty well set for now.
