I picked this up on trade a few days ago.
Its a Michael Kelly Patriot Vintage.
I am not usually a fan of LP style guitars, but this thing is fucking awesome! I have always been a super strat style person until this guitar.
I set it up for Drop C with Ernie Ball Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom 10-52's which have been my go to strings for a long time now. But I may have to step it up to 11-54's on this guitar. The 10-52's feel a little "puny" on this one.
This thing is a good 8-9 pounds. Wayyyy heavier than I am used to. But its very comfortable and feels "right" when I play it.
The biggest surprise with this is how much I LOVE the stock pickups. They are supposed to be a hotter PAF clone. Whatever they are, I love them. Which is good because I planned on putting EMGs in it. Now I can spend that $200 on booze and ammo. This guitar also has coil tapping on both neck and bridge pick ups with separate controls for each. This was always a feature I thought to be completely worthless until now. It sounds phenomenal.
I love pretty much everything about this guitar. So much, that I am already looking into a second one.
If you are looking for an LP style guitar in the $500~ price range, I would strongly suggest you look into Michael Kelly.
And if anyone is interested in what I traded, it was an old Squire Showmaster I didn't play, a Washburn distortion pedal I bought for $7, and a broken Peavey Vyper that had to be factory reset every time you turned it on. Of course I disclosed that to the kid.
That's a good trade man, jealous.
