Hi Guys, I have a question regarding Ibanez necks.
I was looking for a cheap hardtail & thin neck guitar and came across a Ibanez RGR321 EX, at my local store.
The thing is that I tried the guitar and I noticed something weird about the neck.
The maple was in an "unfinished" state,it was very dry, there was no satin finish, it wasn't oiled. nothing, just bare wood. I felt like the entire neck was sanded from headstock to joint, it also had dirty black fingerprints on some areas. (something that i've never seen before)
I have played other bolt-on maple neck guitars before so I'm familiar with the feel of the natural maple neck, and this was nothing like my previous experiences.
Is this normal with Ibanez necks? or was it a "defective" guitar the one the I tried?
Thank you guys in advanced.
Sorry if my description is not accurate but I'm not a native english speaker.
I just want to clarify that I liked the guitar, the neck profile and thickness were very comfortable for me as I have small hands and skinny fingers.
It just never saw this kind of neck finish and wanted to know other's opinions.
