So i grabbed one of these so that i could try my hands at an 8 string before i went ahead and bought a better one at the end of this year.
Initial reactions: This guitar is fantastic. It blows Agile out of the water for sure. It plays like a high end LTD (the 1000/deluxe series). It's very similar to the Schecter Loomis sig in terms of quality and craftsmanship, so it's a total win if you're on a budget.
The pickups aren't great, but stock pickups rarely are. The electronics seem to be shielded badly, which is a cheap/easy fix. The action was pretty killer straight out of the box. The string gauges are hilariously bad though. The low 8 was a .68, which is flop-city. I've ordered a set of .10s-.86s , so that should tighten up the tone a bit.
