First some backstory:
This year has a ton of ups and downs. After a successful tour with Testament and scoring a spot on this year's Hammerfest 2013, 4ARM were offered an opening slot with Slayer and Gojira's US fall tour the day we went onstage in Wales. However after returning home, some personal private family problems arose and I decided to make an extremely difficult decision. April 25, I made the reluctant decision to leave 4ARM and all subsequent tours to focus on personal matters.
Since then, aside from the odd forum geeing, I've kept life on the down low and haven't done anything musically at all since then...
...but it was only a matter of time before I stop resisting the urge to play music again. So a few projects are now in the horizon:
A friend of mine has asked me to join his band, while nothing serious, I get to play with some top Australian session musicians (the drummer has played with Paul Gilbert for example).
My friends from my first ever band are keen on doing a project together. We're taking our time with this one as we're all busy with our own schedules (drummer's a Federal Police stationed in Islamabad so it's a bit hard at this stage). I'm doing the lion's share of the writing.
Lastly, I've decided to finally finish my instrumental solo album... EIGHT YEARS still pending. So Chris, I'm now less Eric Peterson, and a lot more like Drew Peterson.. Thankfully I don't have a drummer problem here.
So now, taking one step at a time trying to regain control of my life, I decided that the new direction of projects justifies new gear! First up is a guitar that's resembles a return to full circle: I'm back to playing RGs again.
So enough talk: PICS!
My first guitar had a maple board RG copy, plus no EMGs and Dimebucker here, I'm going full classic Jem/PG and went with dual PAF Pros and FS1 in the middle, slightly lower output that my favorite Breed equipped RGs. This will be my main Drop-D instrument and it's been such a joy to play.
Now the real question is raised: how long with this Edge Pro last until I tear this off the body and replace it with a Gotoh...
Aw man, bummer to hear about you leaving 4ARM, and hope the personal stuff is all sorted out bro.
That said, a maple-boarded awesome as hell fr00ty RG is a great way to kick off the new chapter. I think the Edge Pro may actually be able to hold up to the abuse that you put those poor trems through!
