So I was at Guitar Center and a guitar on the used wall caught my eye. What was that guitar with green and white pickups on a black body?
I noticed the shape, that's a Petrucci model.
I noticed the price, that's the Sterling version.
I had never played the Sterling version and wanted to give it a try. I'd played the EBMM one and it was awesome, but I didn't know what to expect from the Sterling.
Holy cow it plays really well.
I was quite surprised. They actually had a used EBMM one to compare it to, and obviously it's not quite as nice, but it's still really nice.
I figured the pickups weren't stock so I asked someone if he knew what they were. He told me it was a Crunch Lab in the bridge and Liquifire in the neck.
I decided to think about it for a few days. You know cuz impulse purchases aren't always good.
It was tuned to D standard but after I bought it I put it back to E standard. I'm not a huge fan of floating bridges but this one isn't bad.
