I've played a Midtown Custom with the stuff, and it feels great, and I can't really tell that much of a difference from ebony, and I'm an ebony snob. I actually wish they'd use the stuff on more standard USA models (MIII, hint hint).
That said, LPCs have ebony boards or they aren't an LPC. Period, end of fucking story. I'll make one exception, the maple boarded Customs, but all the shit coming out as "Customs" with either baked maple or rosewood can kiss my fucking asshole three days into a camping trip with Paula Deen.
Gibson has become such a petty, rinky dink corporate culture. For every genuinely good idea the great people on the floor have, corporate makes an equal and opposite moronic one. Oh, finally go back to the small guard SGs, or even some new no-guard SGs? Awesome! Let's put FUCKING ROSEWOOD ON LES PAUL CUSTOMS.
I swear, all of you should make me rich and famous for the sole purpose of me being able to buy Gibson and straighten this shit out.
