Got this guitar on Saturday from a guy on Craigslist selling it for $300! and had to jump on it. I've been wanting one since I saw Dave Kurshner from Velvet Revolver with one and thought it was a sick spin on the Les Paul shape ( I love me some Les Pauls) and he also had crazy amounts of sustain on the live vids I saw of the band, which I later found out was a Sustainer and it makes this my favorite guitar for that feature alone. You can switch the Sustainer into two modes: the first is normal normal sustain for forever and it also adds feedback if you position your guitar towards your amp and cab and the second is a harmonic or pitch shift, which can add that Slayer Kerry King style sustain ala Seasons in the Abyss and the various stuff he uses on various stuff live. This is Fernandes's version of a Gibson Les Paul Custom (according to specs) it has a 24.75" scale, Mahogany body with Maple cap, Mahogany neck with Ebony Fretboard and Binding from the body to the headstock, the only non Les Paul Custom element finish wise would be the abalone, that's more Schecter and ESP but I like it. It came with a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge but I'll change that soon, too much treble and not umph in the low end. The gold hardware is very pleasing to the eye all in all I love the guitar it's made an awesome Birthday present, now for some pics.
The Fernandes and Loomis have the same haircuts, the Ravelle is funkier though
Trans black quilt looks so sexy with gold hardware. Nice one-piece top on that, too! I'm guessing it's a plain maple top with a quilted veneer? They did a nice job of the dye on that. So many companies absolutely kill the three-dimensionality of figured maple veneer by overdoing it.
