Hey guys, long time coming with this post. I finished up the soldering and Floyd setup over the weekend and got the "green machine" up and running!
The body was originally a KVX10 (with the blue swirl paintjob) and the neck was from a MII Dinky. The bridge is a Jackson JT-580, pickups are new Seymour Duncan SH-6 Distortions (bridge and neck, respectively) and the rest of the hardware is from Warmoth. Paint supplies were purchased online from The Guitar Reranch. The color is Cadillac Green (originally from Gretsch models) but was the perfect match for the army green color I had in mind. From the get-go I was wanting this thing to look like a piece of military hardware and not do something already in the Jackson lineup.
This didn't come out perfect, but I'm still ecstatic at the results...especially since represents many firsts for me: first project build, first pickup install, first refinish attempt, etc. During this build I posted with a few questions, thanks to all of those that helped. Your advice is much appreciated! Later guys, I'm off to jam on some old Megadeth tunes.
