Last year I upgraded an old RG using an amazing body from Area51Customs.
Sadly, after I put it together there was a crazy leak in my flat, mains water all the way from above, through us and into the flat below.
Moving your belongings as warm indoor rain drips onto you from a light fitting is a rather strange experience. I recommend people try to avoid it.
In the course of this the RG got soaked, the action got screwed up, the neck probably warped slightly and lots of metal work ended up rusted....
Happily after several moves between temp accommodation, messing around with finance etc I've now had her restored to playable and taken the opportunity to have new frets fitted.
I can't believe the difference in feel between 10+ years of wear and brand new shiny stainless steel jumbos. Everything feels amazingly fluid and lovely to play. A few pics of the restored beast!
