I have a Jackson RX10D Randy Rhoads
I tried a B.C. Rich Masterpiece Mockingbird of a friend
I always struggle a lot to play riffs or solos, I normally practice riffs for days with a metronome, just to be able to play with cleanness and no mistakes. With the B.C. Rich that isn't necessary, the playability is HUGE.
-I have to put twice pressure to a fret to sound normal on the Jackson, reducing the hands speed.
-The string are much less tense on the B.C. Rich, increasing speed.
-The strength I use on the Jackson to make a 1 semi-tone bend is the same to do a 3 semi-tone bend on the Rich, reducing speed also.
-The Jackson makes a lot of high-pitched unwanted noises, to mute them you have to always be touching the strings with both hands. This is really hard when playing riffs that use the low E string and use D, G B or high E string. On the Rich, it is enough to mute the low E string with your right hand.
-On the Jackson when I release the pressure on a fret which has harmonic, it makes a loud unwanted noise.
Does someone know the reason of all this??
Can I do something or is the guitar? I struggled a lot for more than a year to save money to buy this guitar, and now this
I like more the sound of the Jackson but at the cost of all this playability it isn't worth it. Thanks for the help!!
Maybe you need a setup on your Jackson?
