Pretty cool looking guitars, now available in the US as well. If they're still made at the same plant as the PRS SE's, they should be pretty solid guitars.
Yeah, don't know too much about them other than Lyle used to play one, and they're done by Chappers in the factory that makes the JT Variax and PRS SE's. Should be good quality for $525 for the 6-string.
FYI, Chapman's US dealer confirms they're still made at WMF, same as JT Variax and PRS SE's. Looks like my wish of getting a Variax without the shitty Variax electronics might be able to happen (sort of) after all. I was kinda wanting another guitar for A. keeping at work and B. practicing my Drew-approved skills of guitar setup and electronics swapping, without resorting to trying it on my more beloved guitars.
I heard somewhere nuts Dont have to be glued in as the string tension will hold it in place, and it's an old "traditional" (with bunny ears) way of doing things. Maybe that's what Chapman was going for  but my source was a crappy YouTube video so take from that what you will.
They don't *have to* be glued in at all, no, in fact it's preferable to not have to glue them in, as it makes them easier to replace with no damage to the wood underneath. But in order for that to be the case, the groove in which they sit has to be a very snug fit that requires a bit of force or a tap from a mallet to get them in. This was just ridiculous though, it was only held in place by string tension, and that's absolutely retarded.
If the 7-string Tele-shaped one was exactly like this, but in a 7-string format (26.5"-scale is fine) and normal H-S, I'd seriously consider one, depending on QC reports.
Myself, Stuh84 and Peteus (possibly Plezz if he's up for it) are taking a trip to Andertons on the 15th to hopefully try some of these first hand. I'll report back on what they're like.
ESP and several companies have been doing it for years now. It's like a set-neck/neck-through hybrid.
