I have an 80's guitar problem and it's only getting worse... Found this guy on ebay and knew it had to be mine. I have been trying to find a decent shape MIJ, ESP made Medley for a few months and the last one I found fell through. The ad stated it was a basket case, and it is; though it did come with Duncan buckers and a Dimarzio humbucker single. Needed to be wired, has some rusty floyd hardware, and a few nicks and dings. Picked it up from the office of my apartment complex at 5:30, had it torn down by 5:45. I tend to get a bit enthusiastic about these things and forgot to grab a pic of it together. Beforeish:
Cleaned and polished headstock... Hnnnnnng
Cleaned and polished body on the trusty workbench towel, note the fucked tone pot hole:
Wired and Ready:
The bridge pickup (vintage JB?) was sharpied(!) black when it was actually this awesome duck egg blue color. I took some rubbing alcohol to it and cleaned it, sharpie mistake came right off. Used an orange drop cap for the tone circuit, and cloth wire to make it classy. The frets are immaculate and it has a gorgeous slab of rosewood. And it's a Robin made by ESP... sofa king stoked!!! Tomorrow nights goal is to get it back together and making proper 80's METAL. I will post picks of the wiring (after I know I did it right) and the guitar when I get back together. Just thought I would share. Anyone who knows anything about these, more info would be appreciated!
