People who follow me on FB have seen these already.
While I like Gibson tone, I have never really connected with a majority of their guitars. However, I have spent years drooling over and dreaming of the day that I would own a Firebird. I have been busting my ass at work, which is why you haven't seen much of me, and it was time to treat myself. Enter the Gibson Firebird 120th Anniversary in vintage sunburst. Seriously, do I need to say more? Of the Gibson offerings, Firebirds are the sexiest. Does she play and sound as good as she looks? Yep. The sweetwater pics are of THE exact guitar I bought from them.
This will be the main guitar for my soundgarden tribute. I am using this one for standard, Drop D and Drop B tunings.
I love it so much that I went ahead and ordered an epiphone firebird in pelham blue as a backup. Should be here tomorrow.
Next up, the Squire vintage modified cabronita tele.
I had been jonesing for a tele, but i also was looking for a gretsch sound. This is another guitar that works great for soundgarden. Prior to the firebird's arrival, I used this as the main guitar. Right now, she is in CGCGGE for Burden in My Hand, Pretty Noose & Head Down. However, I will probably use her for CGDGBE & CFDGBE to kick out Mailman, Limowreck and 4th of July.
Anyway, I am loving these. Questions? Fire away.
My friends dad has a Firebird from the 70's that just sits in the corner collecting dust. It needs a lot of work but he won't give that bitch up for nothing!
Nice score man, they look great.
