Some dickhead has been adjusting the action on my RR3 with the strings in full tension, so my bridge no longer floats properly. Can I get away with just sharpening the 'cutaways' on the bit of the bridge the connects to the posts, or do I need a new bridge???
Never tried this repair myself but I'm sure someone has.
Do you mean they've been adjusting the studs that the knife edge pivots against? And what do you mean 'no longer floats properly'? Is the trem not returning to zero point after using it (i.e is the tuning being messed with when you use it then let it return to its neutral position)?
You can get the knife edges sharpened if they've dulled that much, but I'd be surprised if one adjustment dulled them so much. I did that to a guitar before I knew what I was doing many moons ago, and it didn't dull the knife edges to any noticeable degree. Or did they go apeshit moving them up and down?
Also, kill that person.
