Looking to find better pickup matches for my new Jackson Fusion XL.
So here are the specs:
Basswood body with maple top (and bottom) - I'm assuming they're both veneers.
Maple neck with rosewood board - 24 frets, 24 3/4" scale.
Floyd Hum Single Single config.
Currently has a Seymour JB in the bridge and it's too warm. The bass is a bit loose and there are way too many low mids for my taste. High end isn't bad but it's a long way from too bright.
The singles are stock (I believe) rail type and they're terrible. They are too high output and are trying really hard to sound like full size humbuckers.
For the bridge I'm looking for balanced and versatile. It will be playing classic rock and classic metal but the pickup doesn't need to be high output. I've got plenty of ways to get the drive from the amp models (and pedal models, etc). I mostly use the Friedman HBE model - think hot rodded jcm 800 kinds of tones. I do need it to clean up or split well to get decent cleans.
I need hum free for the middle and neck. I would rather drift toward vintage than hopped up rails style.
