    NGD: PRS SE Edition

I've just joined a function band (weddings/parties etc.), so figured I'd need more than one decent 6 string. Was thinking about getting a Warmoth custom, but don't have the luxury of time (first gig is the 30th), so I figured I'd look at PRS SEs as I've always liked the look and like the way that the man himself thinks; watched a few interviews and a TED talk. Looked at a review for this one and it sounded pretty much perfect, even comes with a coil tap for almost single coil tones so it should be pretty versatile which was the main criteria.

So I took a drive down to the nearest music store that had them in stock, pulled this one off the wall, had a play for about 15 minutes and then took it home. Already thought of a few mods that could be done (CTS pots, sprung switch, locking tuners, and maybe a pickup swap in the future, though I'll see how I get on with the HFS Treble and Vintage Bass pups). This thing is sweet as a nut to play though, so none of those mods are very high on my priorities right now, they're just more creature comforts. Only thing I'll do is slap on a set of 10s. Easily the easiest guitar I own to play, though my 7620 is kinda set up to fight back what with the cables I use for strings and tuning up a half step. Here be pics.

Nice! Looks great. I loved my SE245 right out of the box, and even more so after my extensive (and expensive ) mods

Put some 10s on last night and just lowered the action, plays like a dream now, not played it through the axe fx yet but it's nice and loud acoustically so that bodes well. Got some Schaller M6 locking tuners and straplocks coming so there will be mods, and they will be soon.
