I have a Squire Jim Root Tele that I hate. I'm dying to get rid of it. A local music store has a Japanese made Jackson Dinky. It has headstock issues, and they said it was repaired. I'm still skeptical though. Is it a good deal for an even trade?
I had a Jackson Dinky a couple of years ago. It was pretty fine for it's price, nothing special as far as I could tell (aesthetics and brand aside), but it had a good price-quality-relation to it.
If you really hate the tele, isn't that reason enough?
I have a Japanese dinky with a headstock repair and its pretty solid. If its gonna be a keeper then go for it but don't expect to get much for it if you ever want to sell. If it has Seymour Duncans rather than duncan designed pickups then deffo snatch it up.
looks pretty good to me it will be leagues better than the Chinese one but once again guitars with headstock damage can be pretty hard to shift in the future though (but i don't know why you'd want to )
Dude a thousand times YES!!! MIJ Jacksons are solid as fuck with great specs. I've played the Squier Root sig and it's not worth its weight in fire wood. Do it.
I'm going to check it out over the weekend, with the headstock being previously damaged, what should I look for in terms of it being done properly?
