    ESP LTD C-401B Baritone

I am very intrested in purchasing the ESP C-401B. I would like to tune my strings to ADGCFA. I have a problem with the strings this guitar brings, it comes with (0.10-0.46) and I enjoy playing with thick guitar strings to have my low A string sound thick. Recently read good reviews but, I have heard someone mention they wanted to put their low A string 0.72 but it didn't fit inside the peg. Can I have someone at a guitar shop who can manage to do this custom setup for me?

Let someone drill the tuning peg to widen the hole, or do it yourself

The nut will also have to be re-cut.

In my experience, going that heavy on the low strings really doesn't sound all that great. I wouldn't go any heavier than a .068, personally.

    Wirelessly posted (Wondernuts)

Going past about 68 starts sounding like mud as there almost no high end harmonic content. I've recently dropped my drop A gauge from 14-68 to 13-62 for a little more cut and feel wise on a 27 inch baritone is pretty similar but the tone is a fair bit brighter.

In agreement with everyone else. That's way too thick. The 13-62 set should be more than enough for a baritone scale.

I agree with all the agreements. When I had baritones, 13-62 was fine.
