after months and months of going back and forth with myself over what guitar i want to get next, the new maple boarded 1527 kind of pushed me over the cliff and i figured it out. i'm going to get an rg7 replacement body and neck to build myself an ash and maple strat-inspired rg7. i'm really, really excited about it.
i'm probably going to order the neck from et guitars. their necks are gorgeous, and they can do exactly what i want done for a resonable price.
the body might come from et guitars as well, but i'm also considering elysian on that one.
anyway, the specs are going to be:
3-pcs maple/wenge AANJ neck with bridseye maple fretboard and reversed natural maple headstock (probably going to slap a gold ibby logo on there if i can find one i like)
ash or swamp ash body with a bright cherry burst finish, H-H configuration, one volume knob, and some sort of trem...
but i have no clue what sort of trem i should get it routed for. i've had a few sixes and sevens with trems, but i never did too much with a trem so i don't have much experience in that department.
so, what trem should i get and why?
thanks for your help.
try the hipshot trem. Its a ball bearingy strat trem. Very useable like a floyd, but not such a pain to use. Ive installed a few of em in USA strats and theyre great.
Dont buy hipshot direct though, theyll rape you on the cost. get a dealer to hook it up
