So...recently I've been looking for a modern strat, and I've found an RGT220 and an RG3120 on the local used market.
The 3120 is really beautiful, but those 2 hole behind the neck, where are the nut screws, scare the shit outta me! maybe it's solid ar rock but still...
lately I'm more bent to the RGT220,but now...a new contender step into the ring: I've seen that Schecter are releasing new neck-through Banshee, and they really look gorgeous!
So...what do you guys think, should I go the Ibanez route (which is 930€,and looks in very mint conditions) or wait, and see how are these new Schecters?
Both those Ibanezs are fantastic. And the rear mounted locking nut is nothing to worry about. Some guitars do get a little stress crack or two there, but it never has any significant effect.
Personally, I'd probably plumb for the 3120, as they tend to have nicer looks than the 220, but they're both really nice guitars. Got links to them?
One more thing, Ibanez guitars have very slim necks, and Schecters have thicker ones. If you think that might be an issue, you might want to go try some out, to see which you prefer.
