Awesome video and something we've probably all pondered. Worth getting a cheaper guitar so you have spare change for customisations, or is it just better to put that money into a more expensive guitar?
Not sure how the video concludes cause I'm still watching it but it's been good so far.
EDIT: Agree with The Captain in the conclusion, and it's basically what I said in the PRS SE thread; mods are mods, but when you pay more for a guitar, you're generally getting a much better crafted, better sourced materials, more toneful instrument. Cheap guitars are fun, but the one thing you can't modify is the build quality and the reliability.
I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with choosing cheap over expensive guitars or vice versa. I just think you have to take what 'The Captain' said with a grain of salt. He owns a music gear business, right? Of course he's going to tell you to buy the more expensive stuff.
Why would he take a $900 loss by telling you that the $100 guitar is just as good as the $1,000 guitar, you know?
