I like my RG370 but as with all people with an addiction I want to trade up.
I have an opportunity to get one of these in good condition for $500.
What do you guys think?
Watched a premier guitar review on youtube and read their article on it.
Their verdit was pick it up if you want a heavy rock guitar but skip if you are looking for more of a vintage tone. That's fine with me as it gives me an excuse to chase down a more vintage sounding guitar later!
I had the RG927 until recently. I think they're good guitars. The top on it is a veneer, not a thick figured top, which some people don't like. I didn't care about that, really.
There are only two things I didn't like about it, things you may or may not want to get a feel of before you do the deal.
1. The fretwire used on the Premiums is a different size to the fretwire used on most RGs. It's a little bit smaller, making the frets feel like medium sized, rather than jumbo.
2. The fine tuners on the bridge aren't super-well machined, and are a bit stiff to turn and feel a tiny bit uncomfortable on the arm/hand when you encounter them.
Those two things aside, I think the Premiums are really well made guitars, and they look pretty awesome, too. The orange one is outrageously cool.
