Help me part with some hard earned money... burning a hole in my pocket...
I'm getting up there in the years. I've spent the past 5 playing jazz guitar to the walls in my room, studying many of the greats. I think I need a break, so I'm going back to a lot of the music I loved from my youth:
- Metallica Garage Days
- Faith No More
- Suicidal Tendencies
- Body Count
- Van Halen
Despite being mostly a jazzer, I've accumulated a few decent pieces of a metal rig:
- Schecter Blackjack SLS C-1 FR P Hell's Gate
- ENGL 1x12" Screamer 50
- Roland Cube 80XL
By the way, I have a real thing for Schecter guitars... they seem to make the best darn valued instruments with quality pickups, nice necks. I actually use a Schecter Corsair as my go-to jazz guitar.
I don't have any pedals or what not.
So I play mostly through the Roland because it does bedroom volumes way better than the ENGL. It also turns on and off right away.
Honestly, I'll probably never "play out" so buying a half stack seems like a big waste at this point other than to scare my neighbors.
So given I'm stuck as a bedroom wanker, what would you suggest I burn some bucks on? I've got an itch and it's silly, but I'm sure you know the feeling. What should I look into? A new guitar? Is there some benefit to getting a pedal? Is there a "much better" practice setup than just the Roland Cube?
90% of the time, I'll be playing seated with my ipad and music stand, doing online lessons and what not.
Oh.. I could burn $1k or so, if the mood suited.
If you have no effects, pick up something like a Line 6 M9, and Ibby TS808. As far as amps, personally I'd sell both and grab one of these...

When you want to practice, turn the Watts to the lowest it'll go. When you want volume, turn it up.
