I have been completing this guitar for a few months, experimenting a little until I finally settled on a configuration. The idea for this baritone guitar was inspired by some of the single-coil type sounds of Tosin. I wanted a downtuned axe that excelled at more dynamic clean-ish tones, with a metal edge. This led to some surprising pickup choices, that I am completely satisfied with!
29" Rock Maple Neck 10-16" compound radius
SS Dunlop 6100 frets
Schaller M6 Tuners
Thin Nitro Cellulose finish
Mahogany chambered body
Dimarzio Custom Taper 500K pots (dual volume, no tone)
Fender N3 Noiseless (stacked humbucker) pickups (mimicking medium output singles)
Build cost = about $900
Strings: 13-62 Baritone E Balls
Sound: VERY articulate. Very unique. Very Awesome. I find it hard to come up with anything to compare it to.... It's a very "guitar" sounding baritone. I will post some recordings on the site if anyone is interested.
I call her, "Halle Berritone" because she's brown and beautiful
