Got this one for a pretty fair deal including shipping AND customs, at least for me. I've been drooling for a Barrington for a couple of years and now I finally pulled the trigger!
Now it LOOKS almost brand new except a few scratces on the back, but it's REALLY shiny and nice. Almost no rust whatsoever, and plays pretty good.
The drawbacks is tho that the electronics fucking suck. But I've read this is common with Barringtons, but I plan on changing it all out when swapping humbucker (I don't like the stock humbucker at all). The hardware is in good condition, but I can't get the arm to get tight enough, seems to be some issue with the tightening screw.
So the to-do list to make this the best guitar ever is as following:
Install a better humbucker and make sure the electrics work without scratching and noise
Stainless steel jumbo refret (these appear a bit smaller than my other jumbo frets)
Maybe replace the Gotoh Floyd because of arm issue (possibly changing all hardware to gold!)
Otherwise, it feels really good.
For the moment I can only really play the single coils, the bridge humbucker is noise and doesn't work properly, and when it does work, I think it sounds weak and boring.
Anyway, I think I'm in for a good ride with this bastard!!!
Even better packaging!
Something pink/purple/red/metallic appears...
Trying out... "Almost" in tune on arrival except higher strings.
However the high E string was set in a REALLY weird way
Neck appears to be in good condition, hard to see any signs of warp with the fine tuners on the Floyd getting in the way of sight
Finish almost in mint condition, VERY little scratches, looks almost new!
Here's a try out! (as said humbucker doesn't work properly, so I only screw around with the single coils here)
