So I have posted a few times about a project guitar I'm doing up with a RG8 and using a area51 body. I'm getting a swirl placed on the body by a chap in the UK which is going to cost a fair bit. I've been planning on grabbing a bridge from ibanez parts which also ain't cheap.
So at this point I'm wondering with a pricy paint job and bridge, would I be better to selling the RG8 and grab a RG2228 which will instantly fit the area51 body and I get the required bridge thown in but, it will cost more. Basically, is there an improvement in neck quality, stability, fretwork etc... from RG8 to RG2228?
You are going to have the most expensive not-custom 8 string guitar ever. And then you are going to sell it in 5 years for $300 bucks....
Just play and enjoy it man. Swap the pickups around, etc.
Let me repeat:
DO NOT SPEND $1000 BUILDING THIS RG.
Buy a 5150 and some new 8 string PUs instead.
