Do you ever get the urge to go back to E standard?

So me and my band play all out songs in B standard, 7 string guitar for me, 6 tuned to B for the other guitarist and a 5 string bass.

But it lately I've just been yearning to go back to E standard. Does anyone else ever get this?

i was jamming some of my bands tracks on a 6 in E standard and they just felt so much more crunchy and aggressive - and fun. It Lost all the flub from the lower tunings. They also sounded great through my studio pre that way.

Am I alone in this, or do any of you guys get the urge for some grindy AF old school regular tunings?

Literally the only thing holding me back is wanting to use the 7 I built last year for sentimental reasons. But fuck sentimentality.

Has anyone ever made the switch back to E?

For one of my bands that hasn't gigged, or even been in the same room, in a long time I've be re-learning everything in E-standard(and drop D) since I don't have a 7 string any more. It's been actually quite fun! I did most of them in this pseudo-open tuning on a 7 since there were like 3 different tunings so switching has been kind of a challenge.

I keep an axe in E, since I'm big on 80's rock and metal.

The band I was in played everything in D standard, then A standard for all the 7 string songs. After it finished, I went back to standard tunings for all my guitars.

I don't know what it is, but I just seem to prefer B standard for 7s and E standard for 6s. There's nothing in particular, except maybe that the music I listen to and play along with is in that tuning.

I only play in E or D standard.

I always keep a few E standards within an arm's grab. I like a variety of tunings, and I like some drop tunings, but E standard is just the most natural for me. I feel right at home with 9's in E standard.
