So, about a month or more ago, I sold a bunch of guitars with an eye of getting my hands on one guitar to replace a few I wasn't playing, and found an RG7CST for sale on ss.org! Always wanted one of these, but never actually ever had the cash, and they pretty much never come up for sale, so it just had to be done! It arived a few days after I finished my GMC build, so it's a bit late posting it up, but hey!
It's pretty much everything I expected and more, the neck profile is probably one of my favorite ones I've encountered, and the piezo sounds so much better than my RG2127 (which already sounded great) having a more rounded frequency. Still need to shim the neck a bit to get the action down a hair, but that's a minor complaint that is ridiculously minor.
Anyway, there's not a scratch on it, and minute wear on the trem (can't really see it) so I've been playing it with a bit of apprehension, but I'm sure that'll pass.
Only thing that is a niggle is the sound of the pickups. I was never a fan of the Tone Zone7, and I believe the custom wound pickups in it are a TZ7/AN7 combo, or close to it. Neck I like (although I do think I could do better), but the bridge grates on me. Top endy, shrill and lacking in smoothness, pretty much all the shit bits I remember about the TZ7, so that's probably getting replaced I think (cue howls of derision from purists)
Still, you didn't come here to hear me ramble on, so here's my pic:
and then the pics taken by the guy that sold it to me (lifted from the for sale thread, but hey!):
