I see this at times, and people say that fanned frets are "good for intonation" ... Why would that be? Wouldn't the intonation be exactly the same as a regular guitar? Just differelt scales per string
And also, wouldn't it be hard to bend some notes when the frets contradicts the pitch change of the bend/vibrato?!
Here's somebody who says its good for intonation (reason I started thread... but I've read it elsewhere too)
It's no different for intonation. It just gives more optimal string tension between the low strings and the high strings. That translates into clearer, more "piano-like" lows and sweeter, smoother highs.
