Default Ripped from my fingers :(

Many of you will know I want a CST and a B7, what few of you know is I was offered both. I am still waiting for a price for the CST but this is about the B7.

Thom (Uber Mega) recently contacted me and let me know that he might let his go and asked if I was keen. Well hell yeah I was , he said he would get back to me when he was ready to sell but this was before the markets started diving and the Aussie dollar was buying about 95c US. The other day he gets back to me and gives me a very reasonable price but the Aussie dollar had crashed and with customs I was looking at about $5200. I had to raise some more dollars quick so I decided to put everything up for sale.

Well the dollar has just kept on crashing at a ridiculous rate and if I was to do the deal this morning I would be looking at $6000 and these prices do not include shipping. Thom has a local buyer now and even though I hate having to let this go I can't justify spending $6000 on any guitar.

You can imagine how I feel Unfortunately this applies to any imported guitar now, a US $2500 custom would cost me over $4700 shipped to my door. There goes any nice guitar or that AXE FX I have been GASn for until our dollar recovers.

I'm really really bummed.

Yeah it went from over 96c US just a few weeks ago to 65c US yesterday, it's back up to 67c now. What that means is for every $1000 US it costs me $450 AUD more than it did a few weeks back.

Hopefully it will get back up to at least the mid 70's soon but the economists do not expect it to get much higher than that. Our dollar generally seems to peak around April so it I might have to be content with the gear I have for a little while.

It's a fucker isn't it? I need to get some parts from the States again but was holding off to ensure I didn't leave the account too low in funds. Now I can't really wait much longer and the dollar is fucked.

Some good news, I just checked out the live chart and it's up to 69c, hopefully it keeps going up. Too late for the B7 though.
