So, a few weeks ago, Drew came down to Brooklyn.
Unfortunately, we have no pictures of the actual hanging out and jamming. Drew did take a picture of the burrito he ate that day, but you'd have to ask him for it.
He then left, and left two things behind.
The Warmoth is awesome. Totally different beast to my Forshage - it's bright and snappy, as opposed to warm and fat. Super satisfying for all kinds of styles, and very, very comfortable. Drew knows how to build, spec, and set up a guitar!
It feels very, very nice to play.
He also left a guitar I've wanted for probably eleven years now: an original C-7 Blackjack.
This is a real man's guitar. Wide, chunky but comfortable neck, 26.5" longer scale, .068 low B string. Also the first seven I've owned since about 2010, so I'm having all kinds of fun jamming on that low B/drop A stuff. Very clear and articulate, with a real growl. The JB7 doesn't work in many guitars, but it certainly seems to work in this one and also sounds great split.
Thanks and let's do this again soon!
