So in the aftermath of the "last partscaster" I decided to try my favorit neck on that body, from my Warmoth main guitar. That guitar plays quite slick and the strings feels like rubber bands, which I like, for easy bending and vibrato.
But the same neck (still same strings, I never replaced) and for some reason I had to raise the Floyd almost 1cm to not have the strings being all flat against the frets...
And the thing was hard as SHIT to play! The strings was super stiff, and I believe that the action was only a fraction higher than my main guitars setup, probably because I didn't spend enough time to dial in a low-as-possible action, but still... Even my main guitar never felt like that with higher action back when I made some new setup on it...
Am I right?
Is this kinda like that thing where you raise or lower the tailpiece on a tune-o-matic to make the strings stiffer or looser? Because I have tried that, and while it wasn't night and day, I do believe there was an actual difference.
If I would order a 720 mod Warmoth body, would that feel slinkier? Because it's lower down... I don't see the logic for that, compared to a regular straight neck like I have now (compared to the angled neck with super high shit floyd) but it's still interesting.
