Now that I have an RG565, and have got it somewhat set up and dialed in, I'm running into frustration and problems getting the trem set up.
I know you're not supposed to raise or lower the trem posts under tension, so adjusting bridge height is a pain the ass because you have to de-tension everything, adjust, then re-tension and begin the laborious process of retuning.
-Any good tips for setting bridge height and/or getting it in tune quicker than tuning each string five million times as the tension gets set up?
-Also, is there a good trick for setting intonation on this thing?
-If I was to shim the neck to get better bridge height, what should I use for a shim?
-Also, I was playing around with it, started playing with the trem, did a divebomb, then heard a "clunk" and suddenly everything went SERIOUSLY flat. Did I damage something?
go ahead and adjust it under tension. the parts in contact are steel dude.
ive always done it and get this, i never have tuning issues. just make sure you unlock the studs first
business card (or veneer if you have it) for a shim
get an edge intonation thing. theyre lifesavers (true of any floyd variant and its respective tool)
as far as the clunk, something just wasnt sitting in place and is now, or viceversa. did a spring come out of the back?
