So Six was having a bit of a get clear out recently, and I've always fancied a caparison but can't justify the price tag so I picked up his caparison chatting bird dellinger to see if a proper cap is something I can get on with.
This is came last week but I had to pick up some trem springs (I think I lost the ones that came with it) and some strings and finally got it ready to play.
Spec wise its 25.5 scale, mahogany body with a maple neck, grover tuners and a gotoh 1996t trem. The pickups I think are Chinese made clones of the caparison pickups. They sound pretty decent so far.
The action is still a little high for my tastes so i need to give it a proper set up, and some frets need a little work, but so far I'm liking it. The neck is pretty fat for my tastes - I usually play ibanez wizard necks - but it sounds really good. It's resonant and clear but the mahogany body gives it a nice chunky tone.
Ive only played it thru ez mix so the true test will be when it's cranked thru my Mesa. I haven't decided if I want to keep it yet or sell it on so time will tell. For now I've put it in drop C and having some fun with it.
