I want to get another guitar, I dont need it, my wife tells me I really dont need it, my wallet tells me the same but my GAS says other wise
I was going to get another MTM2 and was on my way ready to take the plunge when my wife decided to step in and tell me a straight NO... if I wanted to waste money on another guitar then do it on a model you don't have she yelled at me(on the skype...since im away from home...), and if I buy the MTM2 she would sell the one I have at home (and she was pretty serious about it...)
Got me pissed but also realized she is right, if Im going to spend money on something I really don't need, its just for the pleasure of it, then buy something you don't already own.
So browsing around on Ebay and local classifieds I bumped into this:
- Ibanez RGR 421EXFM (Red one)
RGR421EXFM - Ibanez Wiki - Wikia
hummm... reverse Headstock
- Schecter Banshee 6
Vault : Banshee-6 Active
From price points the Schecter seems to be a better guitar right? But the Banshee line are basically RG's witht the Schecter Headstock and Logo.
Now taking PUPS differences apart is the Schecter that much better than the RGR? I saw what it seems a great deal on that model and the FR Model, although i'm not looking for a FR guitar, but the Schecter will cost roughly 500€ (530€ wth FR) with Shipping and no Case, and yes they are new. The RGR is not new and costs 310€ with a case and Shipping.
They both looks great to be honest and im more inclined to the Schecter, although it's out of the budget I had settled and if I get it I will be eating Corn Flakes for a month or more... also being more expensive is also my way to tell my woman: Hey look not another MTM 2 but it was more expensive (she will be super happy)
Also saw the Chapman ML1:
ML-1 | Chapman Guitars
It will even more expensive than the Schecter and apart from being the new kid on the block trying to prove itself, I kinda prefer the look on the Schecter
Im just afraid if I go cheap and get the Ibby that I'm missing a hell of a deal on the Schecter (if they still have them...at those prices)... but I don't need another guitar to be honest, My mind tells me NO, my wallet tells me NO and of course my wife tells me NO!!! but yah know
So if anyone had the chance to try any of the mentioned guitars and want to just chime in a give their opinion please do so, I'll be appreciated.
The RG looks the coolest but will be the lowest quality, the Schecter will have all the best features for the price, and the ML-1 would be the best guitar if you want something on a budget. The Schecter and ML-1 will be nearly identical quality-wise, but the Banshee has things like true Hipshot hardware, EMGs, a Tusq nut, etc etc.
I'd normally say no about impulse buys... but my friend recently did one and he got his new favorite guitar, so I can't talk you out of it.
