I "sold" this neck to a guy I know a year ago or so, and since he never paid for it I got it back today.
Because of all time I waited, he decided to put some free stuff in... But he's apparently done some less than fabulous stuff to the neck too.
It was in fine shape when I "sold" it but let's see what he managed to do while he had it...
First off he put the neck on a Rockson body.
Rockson makes some of the shittiest guitars I've ever had my hands on, but damn it do I love a slanted one-hum superstrat body! So I'm fine with getting it for free!
It also has a Gibson 500t pickup, which is cool!
And it has some nice relicing going on
And then he painted the headstock... And stripped the truss rod nut!
And he drilled through the fretboard to fit the new mounting holes on the body
I've done this too, a couple of times
And no, this is not because the original Rockson guitar had a wider neck;
I've had one of these assholes and the neck pocket really is THIS bad.
Anyway... Now I just have to figure out what to do with the neck... The truss rod is stripped.
Any suggestions how to solve that? It looks fairly straight, but could get a little bowed with strings attached, perhaps.
I should get a Jackson neck for this one, because the heel width is slightly wider than 57mm, so that SHOULD fit a 22 fret jackson neck just perfectly!
That sucks, man.
Is it just the nut that's stripped out or the actual threads? I would try to figure out if the nut is replaceable (probably yes), and try to find a replacement nut.
